After a weekend of negotiations -- with representatives of the new Bajoran Republic, it has been determined that Enterprise Station will stay deployed at the mouth of the wormhole. The newly established Bajoran Space Force does not have enough vessels to defend the wormhole, whereas, Starfleet does – and is already operational, on location. In exchange for continued deployment, the Bajoran Army (formerly known as the Bajoran Militia) will assign a small contingent of special forces to Enterprise Station, in order to assist with the defense of their wormhole. A small Bajoran Consulate will also be established aboard Enterprise Station, in addition to the already-operational Bajoran Shrine.
The cooperation between Starfleet and the Bajoran people will continue, however, Enterprise Station will be the place where this cooperation takes place. For the foreseeable future, non-Bajorans will remain prohibited from living and working on Bajor, or the newly-renamed Bajor Station (formerly known as Deep Space 9). Starfleet’s mission to the Bajorans can continue, although, with a few political alterations to accommodate the new Bajoran government.
