The Most Popular Ship in the Fleet

I apologize for the lack of posts this week. I’ve spent most of my time down on Earth, participating in media interviews, talk show appearances, and other related public events. The fact that the Enterprise-D has “returned from the dead” – via time travel -- is intensely popular news right now, and my job, as a public affairs officer, is to deal with the civilian media. My own status as a film celebrity (one of my career choices before I joined Starfleet) doesn’t make things easier either. Although, thankfully, in this reality, I haven’t written my best-selling novel yet (the novel whose residual profits allowed me to purchase my runabout). We were still “missing” in this reality, when I originally wrote it in our previous reality.

I guess I’ll be able to do that all over again too.

Can you believe that there are now two media studios in preliminary discussions, with Starfleet Command, to make a movie about our unique experiences?! It’s true. The return of the USS Enterprise-D is all over the media down here, as well as on Luna, Mars, and all of the orbital facilities throughout the Sol System. In addition, commships are already enroute to Alpha Centauri, Axanar, Vulcan, Andoria, Tellar, and all the other nearby Federation colony worlds, with news of our return.

The USS Enterprise-D has become an immensely popular ship. I think I understand, now, why Starfleet Command chose to give us back our status as the flagship of Starfleet.
