A Dead Star Remains

The USS Prometheus (Nebula-class) returned to Enterprise Station, late last night, after its attempt to reignite the dead star, Epsilon 119 (here, in the nearby Alpha Quadrant). This mission, theoretical from the start, and never before attempted, has failed. Despite three successive attempts, Professor Gideon Seyetik, and his team, were unable to bring life back to the star. It would appear that humanity is not meant to manipulate the composition of dead stellar objects.

Gideon Seyetik, a man of great confidence, has expressed deep disappointment in his lack of success, however, he has also vowed to continue his research, and may, someday, make a fourth attempt at revitalizing a different star. In his words, “failure cannot hamper the spirit of science…. or Gideon Seyetik.” We wish him well in all of his future endeavors.

The USS Prometheus is due to depart Enterprise Station sometime tomorrow.
