New operational policy now requires the Enterprise to drop out of warp at least once every other day, in order to transmit messages (most notably, our PAO system), as well as to engage in any in-transit transfer of commships. As a result, we should be able to avoid the radio silence experienced under previous transit policies, while still retaining the anonymity of warp travel.
Our crew is back aboard (as well as some new individuals), and we are ready to depart Earth in one hour. Our warp engines are in tip-top shape, our systems are operating within approved norms, and the USS Enterprise-D is ready for a new sequence of assignments.
