Terra Nova: Among Klingons

This post was shared from Lieutenant Sam Archer, while on a mission aboard the runabout, SS Terra Nova. It is archived here for mission report purposes.

We arrived at the Klingon colony planet, G’araxa, yesterday, and landed at a civilian spaceport in the city of Denkhar. We are safe, and the SS Terra Nova is secure.

Our crew had hoped to begin their investigation into the disappearance of Lieutenant Worf Rozhenko yesterday, however, we landed in the spaceport near the end of the day, and most of the local businesses were already starting to close. With our task hindered for the day, we managed to find the pro-Federation sector of the city, where many of the local traders and inhabitants – Klingon, other species, and some Humans -- speak English. We found a burger joint, had dinner, and spent some time among the locals. None of us were too eager to rent rooms in the sector hotels, so we spent the night aboard the Terra Nova.

Today, I stayed behind aboard the Terra Nova – in the docking bay -- while the rest of our crew set out into the city. They were able to track down the transport records for the vessel Lieutenant Worf arrived aboard. He did land safely at this colony, and, according to witnesses, was met by a Klingon commander. The two men spent some time in the Klingon parts of the city (visiting a number of locations), before booking transit to Qo’Nos. Lieutenant Worf was here, and he successfully departed this planet for the Klingon home world a day later.

Due to local transit clearances, we, ourselves, will have to remain on G’araxa until tomorrow morning. At that time, we will depart G’araxa aboard a ferry bound for Qo’Nos. We booked transport for the SS Terra Nova, and our crew, because the Klingon ferry can travel at warp 9 and reach Qo’Nos in just over two days. Our warp-5 runabout would take 17 days to reach the Klingon home world under its own power. Given the nature of our mission, we don’t have seventeen days to dedicate to mid-warp travel.

At present, we are all safe (although, being surrounded by Klingons is a bit disconcerting). We have experienced no serious hostilities, and have been able to travel effectively under civilian license. We have not been viewed as a threat. Tomorrow, we resume our journey, and should be landing on Qo’Nos by sometime on Friday.
