Starfleet's Newest Starbase

Deep Space 5, has been deployed at the mouth of the Barzan Wormhole, civilian transit into the Gamma Quadrant has begun, and the Norway-class Starfleet vessels, USS Midway, and USS Freedom, have arrived for long-term deployment in defense of the new starbase. With our duties now complete, the USS Enterprise-D is scheduled to depart the area within a day or two. I have not yet been briefed on the nature of our next mission.

For those of you who wish to see the fruits of our work here in the Barzan System, the attached photo shows the new DS5 saucer-starbase, the USS Enterprise in the background, and one of the two Norway-class defense vessels, the USS Midway. This part of the Alpha Quadrant is about to become a major transit hub!
