Mystery, Curiosity and Determination

The Enterprise is still in orbit of this spectacular wilderness planet. Curiosity is high across most of our science departments, and Captain Picard seems determined to crack the mystery of this planet and its unusual atmospheric characteristics. Until we receive other orders from Starfleet Command, or there is nothing further to discover, we will likely remain here and continue studying, monitoring, and assessing data.

I have been told that we may be on the verge of determining a way to land on the planet without interference from the atmospheric radiation that caused our vessels to disappear, although, I don’t know any specifics about the project at this time. If this does become possible, that could be the first time we land on this planet -- in the present, since all of our disappearing ships landed on the planet in different time periods. If we send ships down there a second time, I think we would all like to avoid random time travel into the past or the future.

In other news, our own, Lieutenant Tessa Kensington has recovered from her lingering medical issues as a result of her travel into the future. She has returned to duty, and shows no signs of diminished capacity from her head wound. She has been given a clear bill of health from Doctor Pulaski, although, she is likely to retain a level of emotional trauma for some time yet.

I myself, am mourning the loss of my personal shuttle, the “Eagle”, but I am immensely more grateful to have my officers back in one piece. Lives are always more important than tech.
