The Other Side of the Wormhole

I haven’t been able to post during the past three weeks, because I’ve been recruited to pilot my civilian starship, an aeroshuttle named SS Terra Nova, through the wormhole on exploratory missions. I was allowed to bring the small vessel aboard the Enterprise (when we left Earth), and permanently dock it in Cargo Bay 3, so long as it was made available for auxiliary missions as needed. Ever since the wormhole was discovered, the Terra Nova has been running missions, in conjunction with the Enterprise runabouts, as we explore the Alpha Quadrant side of the wormhole.

So far, in the Alpha Quadrant, we have not come across any other starships -- no Romulans, no Federation, no Starfleet. We have, however, discovered a beautiful class-M planet that we have been sending missions to investigate. Early discussions have suggested that we set up a temporary colony on this planet, and ferry most of the Enterprise crew through the wormhole, to the colony -- aboard runabouts -- since the wormhole is not large enough for the Enterprise to go through. In this way, at least the crew can get home to the Alpha Quadrant – and later be rescued, even if the Enterprise itself remains stuck in the Delta Quadrant.

A final decision has not yet been made, although, the colony plan does have majority support.
